Featured Band: The Dead Weather

Formed in Tennessee in 2009, Jack White's super-band, The Dead Weather, has been quickly gaining respect throughout the music scene. The group consists of Jack White (The White Stripes, The Raconteurs), Alison Mosshart (The Kills), Dean Fertita (Queens of The Stone Age) and Jack Lawrence of the Raconteurs.  They released their first singles in 2009 which included "I Cut Like a Buffalo" and "Treat Me Like Your Mother". Their first album, Horehound, was released in 2009 and they followed with a second album, Sea of Cowards, in 2010.

The band was formed during a Raconteurs performance in Memphis when White lost his voice. He asked Alison of The Kills to fill in for him, and she gave a stunning performance of "Steady as She Goes" and "Salute Your Solution". Afterwards White approached her and suggested they record together. They got together with Fertita and Lawrence and from there the magic began that would explode into the powerful, engaging sound of The Dead Weather.

"Treat Me Like Your Mother" was one of two singles released in 2009.
