It's amazing how easy it is to judge someone by their taste in music. Let's be honest, we all do it.
People who listen to metal are looked at as trouble makers.
People who listen to rap are looked at as criminals.
People who listen to alternative music are looked at as hipsters.
It's a vicious, endless cycle. I hate that music has become a thing of image. Music should bring people together, it should close culture gaps and it should not be used in a superficial way.
Like I said though, we all do it, including myself.
But why is someone's taste in music so important?
Is it because we strive to have something in common?
Is it because the type of music you listen to really does reflect your personality?
I think it does. I don't think that if someone listens to a certain genre that they automatically fit the stereotypes that come with that genre, but I do think that different types of music draw in certain types of people.
